After the conclusion of the first session of experiments, the WorkingAge research project is going to face the In-Company tests, the phase in which the WorkingAge Of Wellbeing (WAOW) Tool will be daily employed by real European workers along their standard working days. The objective of this experimental phase is to test the effectiveness of different entities included in the WAOW Tool. The entities could be classified in two groups: i) the different sensors’ subsystems, which will provide information about the user’s mental and physical state and ii) the Decision Support System (DSS), a reasoning framework which will provide suggestions and recommendations to the users, according with the measurements provided by the sensors’ subsystems, to improve their working life.
Currently in BrainSigns, we are testing the final integration between the sensors to gather neurophysiological signals, i.e. the Electroencephalogram (EEG), Electrodermal Activity (EDA or GSR) and Electrocardiogram (ECG), and a very portable PC, the Intel NUC, to process them and to provide high-level information about the user state to the DSS. All the sensors will be connected wirelessly to the PC, using both the Bluetooth and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocols.
This phase is a crucial step to allow a daily and simple usage of the WAOW Tool by the test workers in the final phase of experiments.
