One objective of WorkingAge was to design an innovative IT infrastructure tackling Internet of Things (IoT) multi-faceted challenge of the increasing traffic, need for trust, mobility, and climate change. Green Communications succeeded designing the Internet of Edges (IoE), a vast horizontal network of edges operating vicinity traffic and services in the vicinity rather than traveling data a long way through traditional centralized clouds. IoE is a new paradigm bringing together direct communications between edge nodes, and IT concepts from Edge Computing. What is the Internet of Edges? What are the benefits for users, enterprises, data security and carbon impact of IoT infrastructures? Can an Internet of Edges be a real alternative to centralized cloud? Green Communications answers all these questions in the book Edge Networking – Internet of Edges written by G. Pujolle, K. Al Agha and P. Loygue and published by ISTE Group.
