The WorkingAge research project finally faced its very first session of experiments. After a delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the In-Lab tests started for the partners who are developing the sensors and algorithms of the WorkingAge Of Wellbeing (WAOW) tool. The objective of this experimental phase is to identify and validate the set of sensors and methodologies that will compose the WAOW tool during the In-Company phase, that is in realistic working environments. The WorkingAge In-Lab tests will be based on a shared experimental protocol between partners of the consortium. This aspect will allow to enlarge the experimental sample and reach a greater robustness of the experimental outcomes. The shared experimental protocol includes three different tasks for the participants: such tasks have been selected to modulate the mental workload, stress, and emotional state of the participants, and to simulate the daily working activities whose will be carried out by the workers in the second experimental phase of the project.

In the current In-Lab experiments, BrainSigns is testing different solutions for acquiring the Electroencephalogram (EEG), Electrodermal Activity (EDA or GSR) and Electrocardiogram (ECG) data with the final aim to identify the best technical combination of sensors to be integrated in the WAOW tool.

This phase is a crucial step to validate the software algorithms, which will be used in the final version of the WAOW tool.
